Youth Course Information
The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults working or living with adolescents and is designed as a 14 hour course. The course can be delivered in either:
- 2-day training package (7hrs per day)
- 4 Separate modules (3.5hours each)

Mental health crisis situations:
- Suicidal behaviour/thoughts
- Self-harm
- Panic attack/Acute stress reaction
- Acute psychotic behaviour
The developing mental health problems in adolescents covered are:
- Depression
- Anxiety disorder
- Psychosis
- Substance use disorders
- Eating Disorders
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
How to arrange a course
Contact any of the Youth MHFA instructors listed on the Instructor page. Most instructors are willing to travel but need expenses covered.
