Starting this World Mental Health Day, join the pledge to make every conversation matter.
For 25 years, Mental Health First Aid has equipped Australians with the skills and confidence to talk about mental health. Now, we’re asking for your help to take it further
Help us train 20 more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MHFA instructors in 2026. our support will expand culturally safe, evidence-based mental health training to communities that need it most.
To make this happen, we need to raise $100,000 – whether through donations or online fundraisers.
We’re calling for the support of:
125 workplaces
to pledge $750 each
125 individuals
to pledge $50 each

			Will you make the pledge?
Your pledge, donation or fundraising effort will help to fund 20 more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MHFA Instructors in 2026 – expanding culturally safer, evidence-based support to more communities across Australia.
To say thank you, the first 50 workplaces and first 50 individuals to pledge will receive a free MHFA merch item. All workplaces who contribute $750 or more will be recognised on a MECM campaign donor wall and via MHFAI social media accounts.
Together, we can keep the movement growing – one conversation at a time.

Why every conversation matters

1 in 2 Australians
will experience a mental illness at some time in their life

1 in 3 Australians
won’t seek help when they need it most
We spend up to 80% of our waking day in conversation – in person, on the phone, in virtual meetings, over text or via social media.
These moments of connection are all opportunities to recognise the signs someone may be experiencing mental health problems and have a supportive conversation.
A mental health first aid conversation can reduce stigma, open the door to future conversations, or provide a lifeline to support when it matters most.
