Krystian Seibert is Chair of Mental Health First Aid International, having served on the Board since 2014.

Krystian has extensive experience shaping the policy and regulatory frameworks for Australia’s not-for-profit sector. As Executive Director – Policy, Government Relations and Research at Philanthropy Australia, he leads the policy advocacy work of Australia’s peak body for philanthropy.

He previously served as an Associate Commissioner at the Productivity Commission, appointed by the Australian Government to jointly lead a wide-ranging inquiry focused on philanthropy. Prior to this, Krystian was an Industry Fellow at the Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne University of Technology, where he maintains an appointment as an Adjunct Industry Fellow.

In his role as an adviser to a former Assistant Treasurer in the Australian Government, Krystian managed the delivery of major reforms focused on the not-for-profit sector, including the establishment of Australia’s charities regulator, the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), and the passage of Australia’s first statutory definition of charity, the Charities Act 2013.

Nicole is passionate about raising awareness for mental health, reducing the associated stigma and encouraging early intervention. Previously a management consultant specialising in change management, Nicole brings 16 years of experience in Australia and London leading global organisations through workforce transformation programs.

She is currently a Councillor for the City of Stonnington and a Director at On The Line Australia which delivers counselling, mental health and suicide prevention services.

Simon Blake OBE is Chief Executive of the LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall in the UK. Prior to joining Stonewall, he was Chief Executive of the social enterprise Mental Health First Aid England. 

He is Deputy Chair of the Sussex Partnership National Health Service Foundation Trust, which is a specialist mental health, learning disability, and neurodiversity NHS Trust. 

Simon is a social justice campaigner, trainer, and writer and has a special interest in inequalities and inclusion. 

His self-care includes spending time with his dog Dolly and equestrian eventing on his horses, Obi and Boris.

Kathryn is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has extensive knowledge of accounting, funds management and banking sectors. Her work experience includes auditing, regulatory compliance and risk management roles with international experience in the UK and New Zealand. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is also RG146 qualified and has a Diploma in Superannuation through the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA).

Kathryn sits on a number of boards and audit and risk committees in the not-for-profit sector. She also sits on the Disciplinary Tribunal for Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand and the Financial Services and Credit Panel (ASIC).

Evan is a Victorian, with a strong commitment to advance mental health, equality, diversity, social inclusion and better lives for all people.

He is a senior leader and non-executive director with over 30 years of experience in the corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors.

Through his early career years to present, Evan had the privilege of working and transforming different industries across Australia and Victoria including aviation, telecommunications, education, construction, community, health/NDIS, infrastructure, federal, state and local government.

In his current professional capacity with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), he shares expert knowledge of directorship and governance for development, engagement and growth across multiple boards, organisations and industries to strengthen society.

In 2020 Evan was engaged by the Victorian Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions to provide an independent review on governance and integrity models for COVID-19 funded programs. 

He has deep knowledge and experience in the areas of:

Specialising in strategic planning, international perspectives and executive human resources leadership, Vanessa has successfully built and led global People and Culture functions, overseeing teams across Asia-Pacific, the Americas and Europe.

In addition to her ongoing work as a non-executive director, Vanessa leads initiatives related to the implementation of Generative AI solutions, introducing cutting-edge technologies to enhance employee productivity and performance.

With over 25 years of experience as a senior technology leader, Anna Gelling has a deep-seated passion for advancing mental health through digital and data innovation. 

Anna has led digital transformation and product innovation across multiple sectors, including tech, publishing and media, telecommunications, life sciences, digital health consulting, and the mental health sector, both within Australia and across global geographies. 

As Chief Digital and Innovation Officer at SANE Australia, Anna was the digital lead for a landmark federal government project to improve digital navigation for mental health services, gaining profound insight into the needs of help-seekers and sector policy.

Simon is a psychiatrist and has postgraduate academic qualifications in psychological medicine, clinical hypnosis and health administration. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Clinical Governance and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He presently holds appointments as the Program Director of Mental & Addiction Health at Alfred Health and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Monash University in Melbourne, Victoria. He is a board member of Mental Health Victoria, a peak body representing mental health service providers in the state; and Chair of the Victorian Branch of the RANZCP. 

Simon was Chief Adviser (Clinical Mental Health) at the Victorian Department of Health from 202022. In that role, he contributed to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, the establishment of the Division of Mental Health & Wellbeing, and early implementation of the recommendations of the Royal Commission.

Professor Maree Toombs brings distinguished leadership and strategic expertise to the Mental Health First Aid Board. 

As a transformational leader, she guided Carbal Aboriginal Medical Services from a small practice to a $16M Indigenous healthcare provider with 90+ staff. Her mental health expertise includes pioneering the nationally implemented I-ASIST suicide intervention program and attracting over $57M in research funding. 

Professor Toombs has served as Deputy Dean (Indigenous) at the University of New South Wales Faculty of Medicine and Health, developing comprehensive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research strategies. 

Currently serving on NHMRC’s Principal Committee Indigenous Caucus and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing Measurement Consortium, she combines cultural knowledge with strategic vision to create sustainable, culturally safe outcomes for Indigenous communities.
