MHFA International launches proven workplace mental health program in Australia

18 May 2026:

An internationally recognised workplace mental health program designed to build mentally healthy and supportive workplace cultures is now available to Australian organisations, following the official launch of The Working Mind (TWM) by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) International today.

Angus Clelland, CEO of leading health promotion charity Mental Health First Aid International, said the launch responds to growing demand from organisations seeking practical and proactive approaches to workplace mental health.

“As workplaces continue to face increasing pressure, there is growing recognition that mental health and wellbeing must be embedded into workplace culture, leadership and everyday practice,” Mr Clelland said.

Developed by MHFA International partner organisation, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, The Working Mind has supported organisations across Canada and internationally to reduce stigma, improve mental health literacy, and strengthen psychological health and safety in workplaces.

“The Working Mind equips staff and leaders with practical strategies to better understand mental health, recognise changes in themselves and others, and contribute to healthier, more supportive teams,” Mr Clelland said.

Over the past six months, MHFA International has trained a national network of licensed instructors to deliver the program across Australian workplaces and industries, with course bookings now open for delivery to commence from 1 June.

“We’re pleased to now make the program available to Australian workplaces, while continuing to grow a strong instructor network capable of delivering high-quality training nationwide,” Mr Clelland noted.

The Working Mind complements MHFA International’s broader suite of mental health education and training programs by focusing on mental health promotion, stigma reduction and workplace resilience.

Australian organisations can now engage licensed instructors to deliver in-house training tailored to their workforce. MHFA International is also inviting experienced facilitators, trainers and workplace professionals interested in mental health education to become licensed TWM instructors.
